In a mountain village on the island of Borneo in Malaysia, the words murmured by indigenous elders remained in my head. Two years ago, when I visited a village of Penang in Long Jake Village, Sarawak, to cover the illegal loss of Borneo forests.

However, if the interpreter did not communicate well, the elders spoke only about very practical food stories, such as how to catch birds, wild boars and monkeys, and how to cook.
