The 17th, 18th and 19th of September, Baath University in Homs will host the ninth national final of the university software competition with the participation of 20 Syrian public and private universities represented by 75 teams.
Dr. Jaafar Al-Khair, Director of the University Software Competition in Syria, told SANA that the competition includes the elite programmers in Syrian universities and that the selection of Al-Baath University to host this event was due to the excellence of its students at the national, Arab and international levels and receiving several awards reflecting the level of education and academic development of the university.
In turn, Dr. Abdul Basit Al-Khatib, President of the Baath University, explained that the participating teams are competing for the title of Syrian champion in programming, where the university has secured all the requirements to host them in the city of Homs and the provision of laboratories, computers and administrative staff to ensure the success of the competition.
It is noteworthy that the university program competition has been organized in Syria since 2011 and has witnessed great growth and important successes.It is a team competition where one team consists of three contestants and a trainer and the contestants work on one computer to solve a set of life issues programmatically during five continuous hours.
The 9th National Final will take part in the Universities of Damascus, Aleppo, Tishreen, Al-Baath, the Syrian Virtual University, Tartous and Hama, the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology at its branches in Damascus and Aleppo.
