The Ministry of Communications and Technology today issued the public key of the National Certification Authority Certificate at the National Certification Center of the National Network Services Authority during a ceremony at Al Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.

The system is the backbone and one of the most important infrastructure of e-government and e-commerce, where it is a reliable way to identify digital identity and protect the confidentiality of data and privacy and not to deny the conduct of electronic transactions.

Deputy Director General of the General Authority for Network Services Ali Ali presented during the ceremony an explanation on the components of the project and its services, while the CEO of the Russian company "Inform Inform" Russian Igor Schenen to the outstanding cooperation between the Authority and the company and the joint efforts to make this project successful, noting that the most important in this Cooperation is that Syria has developed its own capabilities to maintain its independence in the digital and technical world. Minister of Communications and Technology Iyad Al-Khatib stressed that the transition to e-government and digital transformation is a priority for the work of the government sector to finish routine transactions that strain the citizen and provide the best services in accordance with modern standards adopted in ensuring transparency and justice. In turn, the Director General of the General Authority for Network Services Eng. Fadia Suleiman explained that the current project includes the launch of the Supreme National Authority for Digital Signature in Syria, which is the head of the pyramid in the structure and is called the National Trust Center and under which sub-systems according to the type of services provided by, for example, government certification service provider The launch of the system enables mutual recognition of certificates issued in Syria with those issued regionally, after signing joint cooperation agreements in this field with similar international bodies.

According to Suleiman, this system will be integrated with a range of services and applications provided by other government agencies in order to move e-government services to the stage of interaction and in the future towards the process of horizontal and vertical integration between public bodies and citizens.

The National Authority for Network Services is working to regulate the services of electronic signature and management of domain names on the Internet under the two top Syrian domains “DotSy” “DotSyria” and regulate the use of digital Internet addresses “IPS” for computer networks in Syria and all that would provide an enabling environment To provide advanced electronic services contribute to the growth of the national economy.
