The Indonesian Parliament has decided to increase the minimum age of women to marry, in an effort to reduce child marriage. Previously, the minimum age for marriage was 16 years, but when the new rule takes effect, the age will be 19 years. UNICEF said 14% of girls in Indonesia get married before they are 18 years old.
