(CNN Spanish) - The Bolivian government manages resources and evaluation missions with Unesco in order to repair the heritage affected by forest fires in the Chiquitanía.
This was announced by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism through a statement published on Monday. Authorities hope to quell fires in order to quantify the damage. Unesco funds evaluation missions to sites affected by natural disasters through the Emergency Funds for Cultural Heritage.
In an interview with CNN on Monday, Javier Zavaleta, Bolivian Defense Minister, said the fires are being controlled gradually and in a way
efficient and that is why no national disaster has been declared.

The representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Bolivia, Theodor Friedrich, highlighted on Monday the "great effort" of the Bolivian government in its fight against the emergence of fires.
For its part, the Ministry of Environment managed to return to their natural habitat several animals affected by the fires, including a pejí and a boa. The animals had received treatment due to dehydration and smoke inhalation.
Forest fires in Bolivia have consumed two million hectares, 900,000 of which, in protected areas, according to data from the Santa Cruz Governorate.
