The Director of Agriculture of Deir Ezzor, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Hayy, told SANA that the farmers started harvesting the cotton crop for early planting in some areas of the governorate, pointing out that the general condition of the cotton crop this year is good and promising and does not suffer from insect infestations. .
He added that the total area planted with cotton in the governorate of Deir Ezzor is 11 thousand hectares, of which 3570 hectares in the areas liberated from terrorism.
It is noteworthy that Deir Ezzor province last year marketed 2563 tons of cotton and returned the wheel of the agricultural sector to revive again in Deir Ezzor after years of stopping as a result of attacks by the terrorist organization "IS" on most of the infrastructure and water projects in parallel with the return of tens of thousands of people to the province to practice their lives And cultivate their fields in the Euphrates.
