German Chancellor Angela Merkel criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's announcement of annexing West Bank land to the entity, saying it undermined efforts to negotiate a peace deal.
"The annexations always undermine peaceful solutions," Merkel said at a joint news conference with Jordan's King Abdullah II. "They are useless and therefore we do not agree."
