Mounir Obaid, Director General of Syrian Telecommunications Company, confirmed the return of fixed telephone services to several areas in Babila in Damascus countryside and the completion of 7000 lines there.
Obeid told SANA that fixed telephone services have returned to the areas of “Salat Street, Main Street, Dawar Babila and part of the town of Sidi Mekdad” and that the process of repairing the network and securing services is progressing to cover all areas of the communication center of Babila namely “Babila, Beit Sahm, Aqraba and Hujeira”.
Obeid called on subscribers to review the center from next Sunday to pay their financial repayments and update their data to return their phone numbers to the service.He explained that the subscriber does not have to pay any money during the stop of the center.The accumulated bills are limited to the telephone sessions that he did not pay before he stopped.
He pointed to the rehabilitation of Beit Jan and Deir Al-Asafir telecommunications centers as a construction structure in preparation for the restoration of the service, pointing out that coordination has been made with Damascus governorate to rehabilitate the Qaboun telecommunication center, where the needs for the start of rehabilitation of telecommunications services “Internet and telephone” are being determined at full speed.
In another context, Obaid pointed out that the technical workshops of the company will address the faults caused by sewage leakage and interference of the electricity network with communication cables in all regions to solve the problems of the Internet and communications and work optimally.
