(CNN Spanish) - After more than a year of exile, he returned Monday to Managua Felix Maradiaga Blandón, political scientist, academic and member of the political council of the opposition Blue and White National Unit and director of the Institute for Strategic Studies of Public Policies (IEEPP ).
Maradiaga left Nicaragua in June 2018.
Maradiaga lived a first forced exile in the 80s, during the first Sandinista government.
This time, when he arrived in Managua, he said he had mixed feelings because he says there are no freedoms in his country and said he will continue to pay for the unity of the democratic forces in Nicaragua.

Maradiaga participated in opposition marches, in April, May and June 2018 in Managua and was appointed by the Prosecutor's Office to lead a terrorist network during the start of anti-government protests in 2018.
The accusation was filed in July by a judge under the amnesty law approved by the National Assembly in June.
At least a dozen National Police patrols guarded the Augusto Calderón Sandino International Airport upon the arrival of Madariaga.
CNN tried to consult the National Police about its presence in the air terminal, but has not responded to requests for information.
