(CNN Spanish) - Tensions between the US and Iran are increasing.

On Sunday, US President Donald Trump tweeted that his country was "loaded and ready waiting for verification" of information related to attacks on the world's largest oil processing plant in Saudi Arabia.

On Tuesday, Saudi and US researchers determined "with a very high probability" that the attack on the Saudi oil industry was launched from an Iranian base in Iran near the border with Iraq, according to a source familiar with the investigation.

The attack involved cruise missiles, along with drones, which were flying at low altitude, the source said, and its trajectory was from the north of the Abqaiq oil plant, which was hit by more than a dozen projectiles in the early hours of Saturday in the morning.

On Monday, a US official told CNN that the United States had determined that the attack originated from within Iran. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak with the press. A regional diplomat told CNN on Monday that while the United States told its allies that it has intelligence that shows that the launch "probably" came from scenarios in Iran, it has not yet shared the information.

Shortly after the attack, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused Iran of carrying it out and tweeted on Saturday that "Iran has launched an unprecedented attack on the world's energy supply."

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Abbas Mousavi, responded that "such blind accusations and inappropriate comments in a diplomatic context are incomprehensible and meaningless."

Neither Saudi Arabia nor the United States has so far published evidence on the origin of the weekend attack. However, both governments have said publicly that the projectiles did not come from Yemeni territory, as the Houthi rebels said shortly after the attacks occurred. The source reiterated that "there is absolutely no indication that the missiles came from the south and, especially, from any as far as Yemen."

If it is found that the attacks were directed by Tehran, it is difficult to imagine that there are no reprisals against Iran. But a military response to the attacks may almost break in and perhaps even destroy the hard work, led by France, so that Iran will again comply with the nuclear agreement in exchange for relief from the crippling US sanctions.

With Trump's rhetorical rhetoric, the question that remains is, in the case of a military confrontation, how would Iran, the United States and their ally, Saudi Arabia, arrive?
