Spain: King Felipe sees no government majority

In April, Pedro Sánchez won the majority with the Socialists in the parliamentary elections. But he could not form a coalition. Now probably new elections are imminent.



In Spain, apparently new elections are imminent: After the coalition talks between socialists and the Left Alliance Podemos failed, Spain's King Felipe sees no majority for a government formation. The head of state had previously consulted all party leaders to see if a coalition in parliament was possible. But now he decided not to suggest another candidate for Prime Minister.
