Qassim Qasrini, director of the branch of the National Project for the Transformation of Modern Irrigation in Lattakia, said in a statement to SANA Economic Bulletin the importance of the return of lending to farmers within the project of transformation of modern irrigation in terms of rationalizing water consumption and preservation of minerals in the soil and increasing agricultural production and quality Hadith issued two decisions on the lending process No. 2569 for installments and 2570 cash on 16-7-2019, after an eight-year suspension.

Kasrini explained that the competent agricultural bank receives the applications submitted to it and verifies and verifies their validity.

As for modern irrigation networks paid in cash according to the decision, Kasrini said that the financing is from the Fund in case of the desire of the farmers or unable to secure the guarantees and bank guarantees necessary for obtaining the loan in accordance with the conditions, including the submission of a subscription application from the lending mechanism to the branch of the national project and attach all required documents. Kasrini revealed that economic studies of irrigation water showed that the region will suffer from a large water deficit in the coming years if no quick solutions are found for water, especially in agriculture, which consumes 89 percent of water resources, therefore, saving water consumption in agricultural areas is an urgent necessity at the present time. Consequently, modern irrigation needs to be transformed instead of traditional irrigation because of its many benefits such as saving water by up to 50 percent, reducing production costs, expanding the area of ​​irrigated agricultural areas, increasing by 100 percent, increasing production, yield and annual income of farms.
