One week after the expulsion of John Bolton, US President Donald Trump has decided that diplomat Robert O'Brien will become the new National Security Advisor.

So far, he was special envoy for hostage-taking in the State Department, now he rises to the National Security Advisor: Robert O'Brien will succeed the one thrown out a week ago John Bolton. That announced US President Donald Trump on Twitter.

Robert C. O'Brien, currently serving as the very successful Special Presidential Envoy for Hostess Affairs at the State Department, as our new National Security Advisor. I worked long and hard with Robert. He wants to do a great job!

- Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 18, 2019

O'Brien had previously been "very successful" as a special envoy, Trump justified his decision.

Trump had fired Bolton a week ago over contentional differences. Immediately thereafter Trump had said he had 15 possible candidates for the post of National Security Advisor. "Many people want this job, it's a great job."

Trump had enumerated after the expulsion from journalists, which mistakes Bolton committed. For example, Bolton said he did not do well with "important members" of his White House administration, the US president said.

During the Venezuelan crisis Bolton behaved inappropriately, also had the security adviser North Korea's rulers Kim Jong Un snubbed by threatening this with the "Libya model" if he did not give up his nuclear weapons program - the North African country had its nuclear weapons in 2004 to the United States Seven years later, the US took part in a NATO mission in Libya, which led to the overthrow of the government of Muammar al-Gaddafi.
