Navy paratrooper survives accident during military parade in Mexico

(CNN Spanish) - During the Anniversary of the Independence of Mexico, on September 16, one of the naval paratroopers participating in the Military Civic Parade suffered an accident at the time of landing.

The injured paratrooper of the Mexican Navy Secretariat is the second master Mateo Hernández and, according to the agency, at the time of the accident he received prompt medical attention by his companions.

In a video published by the University Medical Emergency System you can see in the distance the moment when the paratrooper performs the maneuver that caused physical injuries.

According to a statement from the Navy published on Monday, the paratrooper is treated at the Naval Medical Center and has been diagnosed with "head trauma."

The Mexican Navy says it is giving it the necessary attention for its speedy recovery and stressed that the air maneuvers carried out by naval paratroopers are usually risky due to the level of difficulty.

This is not the first time an accident occurs during an exhibition, although this time the cash did not lose its life.

On August 11 in Colombia, two soldiers who belonged to the Air Force died during an exhibition in the city of Medellín. The military was hanging from the helicopter with a giant flag of Colombia, but apparently, the mechanism that sustained them suffered a damage.

Another skydiving accident with a tragic end was that of a member of the Golden Knights of the US Army, who died after suffering serious injuries when he hit the air with a member of the Naval parachuting team, while performing a group maneuver, in August 2015
