Significant government support received by Syria for trade by expanding the margin of its positive intervention in the markets through a plan to increase sales outlets and provide all goods and materials at competitive prices in addition to granting loans to citizens, especially the purchase of basic goods without interest.
Regarding the steps taken by the Syrian Trade to increase its positive role in the markets, its general manager Ahmed Najem said in a statement to SANA Economic Bulletin to start implementing the directives of the government by increasing the number of sales centers to 3,000 halls and outlets in all governorates through communication with all administrative units and public authorities to secure outlets. The sale is being invested and supplied with all goods and materials to serve the largest segment of the people in an easy way, indicating that 18 halls were opened in several governorates during the last month, while the number of lounges currently operating exceeded 1100 halls in the provinces.
Najm added: The Foundation seeks to popularize the successful experiences that have received the approval of the citizens, including the experience of meat halls in Damascus, where several halls have been opened to sell meat in the provinces of Homs, Tartous, Lattakia, Aleppo and Hama, and will include the experience of all provinces in the coming period.
In the framework of supporting the purchasing power of citizens and alleviate their burdens, Najem explained that it was agreed with all public banks to grant a loan of 300 thousand pounds to buy basic commodities and food from the halls of the institution divided into the amount of 50,000 pounds every 6 months for 4 years without interest includes permanent workers and contractors In the public sector and the military.
In conjunction with the return of the people to their areas and their need for equipment and household appliances Najm pointed to the launch of the loan for durable goods in cooperation with the Popular Credit Bank with a ceiling of up to one million pounds and fixed interest rate of 7 percent for 5 years for workers in the country.
On the ability of the institution to meet the needs of citizens of basic materials and durable goods after the launch of purchase loans Najm confirmed that a large number of suppliers of local and imported goods have been contracted in addition to materials manufactured by the institution and its share of imports of the private sector and direct purchases from producers and we are working on new contracts With a number of durable goods producers including electrical appliances and home furnishings and with public companies to support our lounges and provide a variety of goods to satisfy the tastes of consumers.
Najm said: Our prices are still fixed and below the market price for many basic materials such as sugar, rice, oils, meat and others.
