(CNN) - The U.S. Navy He finally recognized the images that supposedly show UFOs flying through the air. And although officials said they do not know what the objects are, they are not giving clues.

The objects seen in three clips of declassified military images are "unidentified aerial phenomena," Navy spokesman Joe Gradisher confirmed to CNN.

The videos, released between December 2017 and March 2018 by To The Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences, appear to show elongated and fast objects captured by advanced infrared sensors.

In 2004 images, the sensors are set on a target when it flies before it accelerates out of the left side of the frame, too fast for the sensors to relocate it.

Two of the videos, both of 2015, contain audio from American fighter pilots trying to make sense of what they are seeing.

"It's a damn drone, brother," a pilot tells his colleague in the first clip.

"OMG! Everyone goes against the wind. ”

"Look at that thing, friend!"

Gradisher said that the Navy's transparency on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) is largely given to encourage students to report on "raids" they see at the airfield, which threatens safety. of the pilots.

"This is about frequent incursions into our training ranks by UAP," he said. "These incursions present a security risk for the safe flight of our aviators and the safety of our operations."

The videos that were published capture only a fraction of the frequent incursions that the Navy training camps see, he said.

"For many years, our aviators did not report these incursions due to the stigma attached to the terminology and previous theories about what may or may not be in those videos," he said.

The only way to find out what those UAPs are, he said, is to encourage students to inform them when they see them.
