Amber Alert issued by a 5-year-old Hispanic girl in New Jersey who would have been kidnapped from the playground

(CNN) - New Jersey officials issued an Amber Alert (the America's Missing: Broadcasting Emergency Response) throughout the state for a five-year-old missing girl who, according to authorities, may have Been kidnapped from a playground this Monday.

The girl, Dulce María Alavez, may have been carried by a light-skinned, possibly Hispanic man, said the Bridgeton police department. The possible suspect is described as between 1.70 and 1.76 m., Of thin constitution, without facial hair and acne on the face. He wore orange sneakers, red pants and a black shirt, police said.

The man left with Dulce in a red van with tinted windows and a sliding door on the passenger side, says the alert.

Dulce was last seen wearing a yellow shirt with a koala bear on the front, long black and white checkered pants with a floral design and white sandals, police said. She measures 1 meter and weighs 18 kilos, has black hair and brown eyes.

Officers responded to the ball fields of the Bridgeton City Park and the playground for a report of a missing girl around 4:50 pm on Monday. The girl's mother told police that Dulce was playing on swings with her 3-year-old brother, because the mother remained about 30 meters away in her vehicle with an 8-year-old relative, police said.

The mother told police she observed that the 3-year-old boy was returning to his vehicle without his sister, and that he could not locate his daughter, police said.

Bridgeton Police Chief Michael Gaimari issued the Amber Alert after interviewing and re-interviewing people who were in the Bridgeton City Park near the ball fields this Monday afternoon.

Police searched all day Tuesday with more than 50 agency officials from across the county, city and state. Gaimari also said city workers drained a waterway to help with the search.
