Earlier exploratory talks had been held for both a Kenya coalition and a red-green-red coalition.
Since 2009, SPD and Left have ruled in the country, but it is no longer enough after the state election.
The Brandenburg Greens top candidate Ursula Nonnemacher had made it clear after the election that her party wanted to enforce "maximum green positions". The coalition conditions of the Greens: no new mines, no further mining of villages for lignite. The coal exit should be a problem between the SPD and the Greens. Nonnemacher also expects "clear green signals" in the areas of transport and agriculture.
