The Permanent Representative of Syria to the United Nations, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, stressed that the permanent members of the Council continue to abuse the UN mechanisms to politicize the humanitarian situation in Syria and use it as a tool in a hostile campaign aimed at destabilizing its security and stability and supporting terrorism.

Jaafari said during a session of the Security Council that improving the humanitarian situation in Syria and addressing the difficulties faced by the Syrians require full commitment to respect Syria's sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and support its efforts in combating the remnants of terrorist organizations.

Jaafari stressed the need to end the presence of illegal foreign forces on Syrian territory and to stop the war crimes committed by the illegal "international coalition".

"Unilateral coercive measures that have greatly affected the lives of Syrians and hampered their access to their basic daily needs and livelihoods must be lifted immediately," Jaafari said.

Jaafari pointed out that the terrorist organizations in Idlib continue to take civilians as human shields and shoot them for the seventh day to prevent them from leaving through the Abu Dhour corridor and go to areas liberated by the army from terrorism. By forcibly seizing a large portion of humanitarian aid and transporting it to its headquarters in the al-Tanf area.

Jaafari said that Syria is continuing to cooperate with humanitarian partners and is exerting great efforts in this field.

He stressed that Syria rejects the draft resolution put forward by the so-called "human pen campaign" because of ignoring the main causes of the humanitarian crisis, which are internationally supported terrorism, the illegal presence of foreign forces and its attempt to impose new facts on the ground. The hostilities, in contravention of the Astana and Sochi Agreements, have also ignored the responsibility of Member States to return and hold accountable their foreign terrorists and their families.

Jaafari stressed that the sponsors of the draft resolution hostile Syrian state and engage in the efforts of some countries aimed at destabilizing the security and stability of the region to serve the interests of the Israeli occupation.
