The Supreme Council of Tourism approved 40 tourism projects in various governorates with a capacity of 6 thousand beds and 20 thousand tourist chairs and provides 5 thousand job opportunities to be presented to investors during the holding of tourism investment forum in Tartous Governorate in mid-October.
The Council decided at its meeting today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Eng. Imad Khamis to expand popular tourism in the governorates according to its natural and environmental elements and accelerate the completion of the popular tourism map for the governorates of Damascus, Quneitra and Aleppo.
A working group was formed to assist the ministers of tourism, local administration, environment, transport, public works, housing and finance to study the modification of the urban system of projects and tourist complexes outside the organizational plans to serve the vertical expansion of buildings to be praised tourist.
The Council instructed the Ministry of Tourism to accomplish a special tourist map for the city of Aleppo and develop the tourist reality in it. The Council also allowed the Ministry to manage Karnak Beach in Tartous and allocate it to popular tourism for a nominal entrance fee.
In order to support the faltering tourism projects that have returned to take off, the Council agreed to grant an increase in the duration of the contractual investment of the projects according to their investment years.
