Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres during a telephone conversation today the solution of the crisis in Syria as well as the urgent issues on the agenda of the United Nations.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that the talks between Lavrov Guterres during the call paid primary attention to the tasks of contributing to the resolution of the crisis in Syria in the light of the results of the meeting of heads of state guarantors of the Astana track in Ankara as well as the situation in the Gulf region.
The heads of state of guarantors of the course of Astana "Russia and Iran" in addition to Turkey reaffirmed in the final statement of their meeting in Ankara last Monday on their firm commitment to the unity of Syria, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and continue to fight terrorism and reject separatist agendas.
