(CNN Spanish) - Juan Guaidó, president of the National Assembly of Venezuela and recognized as president in charge of more than 55 countries, had planned on Saturday a tour of several popular areas in Caracas, capital of the South American country. One of the points was the Guarataro, in the west of the city.

The followers of Guaidó shouted slogans at the entrance of the Los Eucaliptos neighborhood waiting for their leader, when members of the so-called groups arrived, the clash bands of Chavismo, and followers of the
questioned President Nicolás Maduro with sticks, stones and even some with guns.

After a lot of tension the clashes with stones began.

Minutes later, detonations were heard in the place that caused citizens to disperse. Several journalists were hit by the stones.

An armored truck stationed in the place, which was presumed to be Guaidó, was stoned.

CNN contacted the press team of Juan Guaidó and informed us that the also president of the National Assembly was not there.

Guaidó would arrive a little later, but his team decided to suspend the activity for security reasons.
