Mario Delgado: Amnesty Bill is for political prisoners, women who aborted or indigenous people without adequate defense

The deputy of Morena, Mario Delgado, explains that the draft Amnesty Law that the president of Mexico sent to Congress is not a pardon for those who committed a serious crime, but is intended to give young people a second chance to consume drugs, women who aborted, indigenous people who did not have adequate defense or political prisoners. In an interview with Carmen Aristegui, Delgado acknowledges that, since it is a federal bill, if it were passed, it would not apply to all possible beneficiaries, since some of these minor crimes are prosecuted at the state level. In those cases, state congresses would have to pass that bill, a management that would be headed by the Ministry of the Interior.
