As part of the cultural activities accompanying the 31st Al-Assad International Book Fair, a seminar was held this evening on the book “The Man Who Did Not Sign” with the participation of Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, Political and Media Advisor at the Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic .

At the beginning of the symposium, Dr. Shaaban spoke of the responsibility that any writer shoulders when he deals with the subject of writing, particularly in works dealing with historical documentation of a difficult, important and accurate phase of his country's history.

The author of a book ten years with President Hafez al-Assad to the accuracy and objectivity that she envisaged while writing for her books documenting the history of Syria because of the great responsibility towards future generations, pointing out that the documentary prepared by the channel and documented in a printed book focused on the position of the founding leader Hafez al-Assad Negotiations with the Israeli occupation entity and its consistency on its principles and praised the high professionalism of Al-Mayadeen Channel in documenting witness testimonies for that stage by adopting the document, the event and the documented position in response to the need to write our history with our own hands and record the events of each stage sincerely. Objectivity to ensure access to the hearts and minds of everyone.

The journalist Ben Jeddou considered that documenting this stage in the history of Syria is not easy, pointing out that the aim of the documentary "the man who did not sign" was not only to address the Syrian public, but the Arab and free the world to introduce them to the facts about the founding leader's position on the peace process and his adherence to his land and solidity That amazed his negotiators.

Ben Jeddou explained that this work was accomplished in one year documenting a very important era in our Arab history from the Nakba to the death of the founding leader and the adoption of the history of the Arab-Zionist conflict from the Syrian gate and all the repercussions that took place in Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon.

“The man who did not sign”, according to Ben Jeddou, was not documented for a person, but for the choice of Syria, which the founding leader did not give up for thirty years.

On the other hand, Ben Jeddou pointed out that the Syrian experience in the face of the current terrorist war is a pioneer of its kind and proves to far and wide that Syria is a state of institutions with a strong national belief rooted in its Syrian Arab armies and its diplomats who stood in international forums to defend it.

During his intervention, Deputy Foreign Minister and Expatriates Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad noted that Al-Mayadeen channel stands beside Syria throughout the years of the terrorist war, stressing that the Syrian steadfastness carried all the meanings of dignity, honor and nobility and that our victory is a victory for the Arab world as a whole and that the victory over terrorism was achieved through loyal people Who refused to be a tool against their homeland.

Also on the sidelines of the seminar was a signing ceremony for the book “The Man Who Did Not Sign”, which was published by Bisan Printing and Publishing House.

`` The Man Who Did Not Sign '' is a documentary work produced by Al-Mayadeen Channel, which is located in 12 parts and deals with 40 years of the history of Syria and the region.It was shown on Al-Mayadeen during 2018 to be published in a book.
