Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the new sanctions imposed by Washington on the Central Bank of Iran are a reflection of the failure and despair of US policy to exert maximum pressure on Iran.
"The new US sanctions against the central bank reflect the despair and failure of the policy of exerting maximum pressure," Zarif wrote in a tweet on his Twitter account.
The administration of US President Donald Trump continued its unilateral coercive measures against Iran under various pretexts and yesterday imposed a new set of sanctions against Iran, including the Central Bank and a development fund.
The Iranian central bank announced yesterday that the new US move to impose sanctions on the bank for the second time shows Washington's failure to find new ways to pressure Iran.
