Mr. Fumiaki, a Taiwanese independent activist, died

Taipei, China Died at a hospital in the city. I was 100 years old.

Studied at Waseda University during the Japanese rule, and participated in the communist movement in mainland China and Taiwan. In 1952, he organized a campaign to claim Taiwan independence while escaping from Taiwan under the dictatorship of the National Party to Japan and running a Chinese restaurant in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. He returned to Taiwan in 1993 after the release of martial law. His books include “The History of Taiwanese Four hundred Years”. (Hide Nishimoto)
