The representative of the Union of Arab Jurists to the United Nations, Elias Khoury, condemned the announcement of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his intention to include the northern Jordan Valley in the West Bank, stressing that this declaration constitutes a serious step and a flagrant violation of all international laws, customs and conventions.
In a statement on the situation of human rights in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories at the 42nd session of the Human Rights Council, Khoury said that this declaration contradicts the UN resolutions related to the occupied Palestinian and Arab territories, especially resolutions 242, 338, and resolution 497 on the occupied Syrian Golan.
Khouri pointed out that the practices carried out by the occupation authorities, especially depriving the Palestinian people of their right to self-determination, and the increasing establishment of new settlement units and escalate their violations of the killing of Palestinians and the demolition of their homes and displacement are a challenge to international law and international humanitarian law and human rights and threaten the stability of the region, calling on the international community to confront them seriously And packages.
