In recent years, farmers in al-Hasakah have given increasing importance to the cultivation of various summer vegetable varieties in agricultural lands with constant water resources, especially in the northern and northwestern regions, which contributed to their availability in local markets and the stability of their prices.
A farmer Aref Hamdan from the countryside of Tal Tamr explains to SANA reporter that the cultivation of summer vegetables from income-generating crops that make good profits, especially for those who abide by agricultural guidelines and spraying insecticides and monitor his crop permanently, which led many farmers in the region to expand its cultivation and investment of areas Which was grown with cotton to grow summer vegetables.
The manager of agriculture, Rajab Salameh Bin, said that the cultivation of summer vegetables has become one of the basic crops for a large number of farmers in the province in recent years. These crops are concentrated in the cities and areas of وداAmudah, Darbasiyah, Ras al-Ain, Rural Hasaka and Qamishli. However, the farmers exceeded the plan in some varieties indicating that the province's production last year of various varieties exceeded 165 thousand tons.
