(CNN) - Amazon's dramatic comedy “Fleabag” won the Emmy Award for best comedy series Sunday night. And, if you believe in Twitter and the star and creator of the Phoebe Waller-Bridge series, this is partly due to the love interest of season 2 of her character.

"If it weren't for Andrew Scott," Waller-Bridge joked as he accepted the award for the comedy series (his third victory of the night; he had already won as a lead actress in a comedy, for a script for a comedy and is also the creator from "Killing Eve").

According to the "Fleabag" tradition, where not everyone receives their own names, Scott's character, a priest, is simply called "The Priest." On social media, the character's fans called him "Hot Priest" (the handsome priest).

"I should have called the character 'Hot Priest.' I just realized now, ”Waller-Bridge lamented when CNN asked him about the character in February during the winter press tour of the Television Critics Association in Pasadena, California.

But he is not the only reason to watch the program, which addresses issues such as love, loss and guilt.

Olivia Coleman and Sian Clifford, who were nominated as a supporting actress in an Emmy comedy category, offer notable performances as godmother and sister of the main characters, respectively. And Harry Bradbeer won the best direction in an Emmy comedy award for his work on the series. There has also been a lot of talk on the Internet about the show's costumes, which was designed by Ray Holman, particularly a monkey that Waller-Bridge wears in the season 2 premiere episode.

"Fleabag" is available for new and old viewers on Amazon Prime Video. But those who want to see more of Scott can also find it on the upcoming "Modern Love" channel and "His Dark Materials" by HBO. He has also participated in series such as "Black Mirror" by Netflix and "Sherlock" by PBS.
