Iran has rejected the declaration of Germany, France and Britain on the attack on a Saudi Arabian oil refinery. The three EU states had blamed Tehran for the attack before the general debate of the UN General Assembly. According to Iranian sources, President Hassan Rohani told his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in New York that the statement was "based on baseless allegations."
Rohani has explained to Macron his Persian Gulf peace plan and the Strait of Hormuz, which he intends to present to the UN General Assembly, the news portal of the Iranian presidential office reported.
The attack on a refinery belonging to the oil company Saudi Aramco had briefly shaken the oil markets and aggravated the tensions in the Gulf. Chancellor Angela Merkel, Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Macron joined in their statement to the United States, which are closely allied with Saudi Arabia and are in conflict with Iran.

"It is clear to us that Iran bears responsibility for this attack," says the German, French and British government. "There is no other plausible explanation." Documents were not submitted.
For the attack, the Shiite Houthi rebels in Yemen were known, which are supported by Iran. Tehran had rejected the US allegations and accused Washington of lying and being silent about the human tragedy in the Yemen war in which Saudi Arabia is involved.
