King: Reconciliation is necessary for peace

Bernice A. King, executive director of the King Center, talks about the importance of building peace based on the philosophy of nonviolence promoted by her father Martin Luther King Jr. Bernice King said that for the construction of peace it is necessary to attack the problem and not the character of the person. "Reconciliation is the main part of my dad's philosophy because we are interconnected in this world," said King. In Mérida, Yucatán, the 17th Nobel Peace Prize World Summit was held. The summit was attended by the Nobel Prizes such as David Trimble, Frederik Willem de Klerk, Jody Williams and José Ramos-Horta, Juan Manuel Santos, Kailash Satyarthi, Lech Walesa, Leymah Gbowee, Rigoberta Menchú, Shirin Ebadi and Tawakkol Karman.
