(CNN Spanish) - More than 300 people, mostly women and children, who visited relatives in the Preventive Center for Men in Zone 18 in Guatemala City on Monday decided not to leave the premises to conduct a protest, according to a report issued by the National Civil Police.

The report says that 223 women, 2 men and 95 children entered Monday morning and remain in the center because “they refused to leave, indicating that they would be carrying out a peaceful demonstration in support of the inmates, since so far no They have been fulfilled. ”

Inmates, according to the police, ask for one more day of visit, one more hour of permission to go out in the sun and also to be authorized to enter construction materials.

CNN approached the preventive center on Tuesday morning and noticed that the atmosphere outside was calm, but music could be heard from inside the prison.

A police source told CNN that the authorities were preparing to enter the prison in the early hours of this Tuesday. He did not detail how this income would take place.
