Syria and Cuba signed a cultural exchange agreement in Havana today between the two ministries of culture.
The agreement was signed by the Syrian ambassador to Cuba Dr. Idris Mia and the Cuban Minister of Culture Albedio Alonso Grau.
Grau reiterated his country's condemnation of the practices and crimes of terrorist organizations that have caused great damage to the Syrian archaeological sites, which reflects the barbarism of these organizations and their darkness of takfiri thought, noting the steadfastness of the Syrian Arab people, which gave an example to all peoples struggling to preserve their sovereignty and independence.
For his part, Ambassador Mia affirmed that the agreement is a practical translation of the directives of the leaderships of the two countries in promoting relations in all fields and upgrading them to the level of political relations, pointing in this regard to the importance of culture in enhancing the common understanding of the two countries' civilization and their rich human heritage, which reflects the honorable history of their peoples and their long struggle against global imperialism. .
Ambassador Mia explained that the agreement constitutes a general framework that regulates the cooperation of the two parties in the field of culture and arts and the preservation, restoration and preservation of cultural assets.
