WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Three US naval personnel aboard a US aircraft carrier have committed suicide, US media reported on Saturday.
Captain Sean Bailey, commander of USS George W. Bush, said the soldiers committed suicide in three separate incidents, adding that this was the fifth suicide incident involving elements of the US Navy in the past two years.
According to the US Navy news magazine Navy Times, the US Navy is investigating the circumstances of the suicide operations, noting that these events did not take place on the same carrier without identifying the places where they occurred.
The phenomenon of suicide is a problem for the Pentagon, which launched several programs to reduce this phenomenon and protect the lives of US military personnel.
