[Cairo 22nd Reuters]-Five Western countries (US, UK, Germany, France, Italy) and Turkey, United Arab Emirates (UAE) are a joint statement dated 22nd date and only Libya State Oil Company (NOC) is A policy to support it as a legitimate energy authority was presented. It was revealed on the website of the US Embassy in Libya.
The seven countries signed a joint statement saying, “We will support the NOC for Libyan politics and economic stability and for the happiness of the people.”
In Libya, an internationally recognized interim government based in the western capital of Tripoli and the Libyan National Army (LNA) led by General Khalifa Haphtal in the eastern base are in conflict. LNA is trying to control Tripoli for nearly half a year with military action.
Under these circumstances, General Haphtal set up his own committee last week to oversee Brec Petroleum Marketing (BPMC), the eastern subsidiary of NOC. The NOC strongly accused this of trying to divide the country and obtain a single oil export right.
NOC has jurisdiction over oil and gas exports throughout Libya, but LNA has so far tried to seize oil export ports.
