The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection today launched a campaign to monitor and control markets to counter the attempt of some vulnerable people to exploit the fluctuations of the foreign exchange rate to raise the prices of food and commodities.

The campaign, entitled “Together in the Face of Fraud and Manipulation of Markets,” aims to ensure the availability and quality of goods, foodstuffs and consumer goods in the markets and their compliance with the Syrian health and safety conditions, especially baby food and the fact that prices are high, especially to ensure that there are no rises. Illogical prices and prevent attempts by some to exploit exchange rate fluctuations to raise prices and take deterrent measures against them.

Following a tour of the cardamom markets in Zabaltani, Al Mazraa and Al Baramkeh in Damascus, the Assistant Minister of Interior Trade and Consumer Protection, Eng.
