Donald Trump, in a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Selensky, has initiated an investigation that could harm his political rival Joe Biden. This is clear from a copy of the July 25th conversation published by the White House.
Trump's mention of Biden is about former business of his son Hunter in the Ukraine. Biden is said to have protected his son as vice president from corruption investigations, by causing the dismissal of a prosecutor.
In the phone call to Selensky, Trump said it would be good "if they could check that ... it sounds terrible to me". Biden rejects the allegations as irrelevant.
