In their telephone conversation, Donald Trump and his Ukrainian colleague Volodymyr Selenskyj also blabbered Angela Merkel. This is evident from the minutes published by the White House.
Merkel spoke to him about Ukraine, Trump said. "But she does not do anything." The US president also said to Selenskyj: "Germany does almost nothing for you, all they do is talk." Many European countries behaved similarly. The US would do "a lot more" for Ukraine than the European countries.

In those parts of the conversation that deal with the US-EU relationship with Ukraine, Selenskyj agreed with the US president. "Yes, you are absolutely right," to "actually one hundred percent," said the Ukrainian leader on the allegations made by Trump against Merkel and the Europeans.
Selenskyj added that he had said in talks with Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron that they were not doing enough in the sanctions against Russia. "Although, logically, the European Union should be our biggest partner, the United States is technically a much larger partner than the European Union."
The occasion for the publication of the transcript was the affair of Trump demanded investigation of the Ukrainian judiciary against the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. The transcript confirms that Trump requested such investigation of the Ukrainian judiciary.
The Federal Government does not want to publicly contradict Trump's criticism. "We do not comment on that," said a government spokesman.
