South Korean President Moon Jae-in met with President Bach of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in New York on a visit to attend the UN General Assembly on the 24th. According to Korea's Presidential Office, he told the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 that he was planning to participate in a joint North-South team with North Korea.
The North-South joint team was the first ice hockey girl in the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in February 2018 to be realized for the first time in Olympic history. A joint team was born in the Asian Games in Jakarta in August of the same year, table tennis, judo, and the world championship of handball men.
However, since the North Korea summit meeting in Hanoi in February ended without agreement, North Korea has almost cut off exchanges with South Korea, and it is unclear whether it will be realized at the Tokyo Olympics.
