New York-Sana
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reiterated his rejection of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's announcement that he intends to annex Palestinian lands from the West Bank, stressing that the Palestinian issue will remain the first central issue for the whole world.
In a speech today at the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Abbas called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to end the Israeli aggressions and violations against the Palestinians, end the occupation of the State of Palestine and embody its full and complete independence on the borders of June 4, 1967 and resolve the issue of Palestinian refugees.
Abbas warned against the practices of the occupation in occupied Jerusalem and the possible repercussions of the serious consequences, stressing that Jerusalem will remain the capital of eternal Palestine, willed by my father, and that the Palestinian people will not yield to the occupation and will continue its steadfastness on its land.
Abbas said that the United States' denial of its international, legal and political responsibilities encourages the occupation authorities to continue their aggressive practices against the Palestinians.
