Riots during student protests in Bogotá

(CNN Spanish) - This Wednesday in Bogotá there were riots during the third day of social protests starring students in the vicinity of the Pedagogical University. Mayor Enrique Peñalosa offered a press conference in which he condemned the events.

According to the authorities, five people were injured as a result of an explosion inside the university's facilities.

There were also acts of vandalism on several buses and there were clashes between protesters and the Police.

In total there are five detainees.
