The Ministry of Tourism held this evening a central ceremony in Aleppo Citadel to celebrate the World Tourism Day under the slogan “Tourism and work… a better future for all” during which a number of craftsmen, researchers and historians in the field of tourism were honored.

The Minister of Tourism, Eng. Mohammad Rami Radwan Martini, pointed out that Aleppo has been through the history of convoys of Silk Road convoys and collected culture, music, poetry and precious crafts in the Khanate and markets and presented to the world the art of hospitality and tourism sciences.

The craftsman Abdel Kader Khasim talked about his work in the handicraft craft and tourism field for more than thirty years, expressing his happiness with this honor, pointing out that he participated in more than one hundred and twenty exhibitions in the world and that he is keen to teach the hand-weaving profession to his children and transfer it to the world.

Allam Hreitani, the son of Dr. Al-Mukarram Mahmoud Hreitani, pointed out that his father has extinguished his age in the service and revival of Aleppo heritage, especially in the field of archeology and show his city to the world tourist, pointing out his contribution to the construction of the National Museum of Aleppo and the Museum of Popular Traditions, pointing to his numerous books on Aleppo markets and historical epochs of the city.

Ammar al-Ka'da, head of Aleppo University branch of the National Union of Syrian Students, said that the honoring is an incentive for the participants to continue the work and make efforts to rebuild and civilize the face of Syria to a better than it was.

An artistic concert followed by Aleppo artist Shadi Jamil presented a number of authentic Aleppo songs and cods. He said in a statement to SANA that the celebration of the tourism day in Aleppo citadel is a proof to the world that Syria is still and steadfast and that Aleppo, which has a culture of life, continues to work to restore Revive and rebuild his city and country.
