Insults on Facebook: Report against Berlin judge because of controversial Künast judgment

In social networks, Renate Künste is often verbally abused. The district court of Berlin recently decided that it would have to accept this - a law firm filed a complaint against the responsible judges.

For the Green politicians Renate Künast insults on the Internet are not uncommon. "Dirty cunt" is just one of many slurs. The 63-year-old wanted to reach before the district court Berlin, that Facebook may disclose personal data of the commentator in order to initiate civil actions against the person. But the court decided: Künast must accept the insults. Now a law firm gets involved - and filed a complaint against the judges.

The accusation of Bernard Korn & Partner, based in the Rhine-Main region: right-wing bend. The verdict has outraged her because there is a suspicion that the judges have opted for a simply unjustified verdict based on their political beliefs, the firm said on their website. "For the legal opinion represented there is evidently unjustifiable in our opinion and obviously disregards the decisions of the Federal Constitutional Court."

Door opener for right-wing extremists

The district court had decided on 9 September that Künast made on Facebook similar attributions such as "piece of shit", "sick in the head", "old green bastard", "mental illness", "sick woman", "slut", "brain amputee "", "Hazardous Waste", "Old Perverse Dreckssau" under certain circumstances must accept (more on the background read here).

Künast announced after the decision to act against it. "I expected a more critical argument of the court with the topic, this decision is not responsible against the democracy," she told the SPIEGEL. The decision plays right-wing extremists in the hands, said the Green politician on. "These judges live on the issue of right-wing extremism, apparently out of time and space."
