2019-09-27T13:17:30.618Z

The German wave threatens possibly a work ban in Russia. A parliamentary committee accuses the station of having asked citizens to participate in unauthorized protests.

The Russian Parliament recommends that the country's authorities investigate Deutsche Welle (DW). A parliamentary investigation had come to the conclusion that the station has called in the summer to participate in unauthorized protests, said the chairman of the Committee Wasily Piskarew, according to the news agencies Tass and Ria.

The committee responsible has forwarded its information about DW's alleged interference in Russia with the FSB, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice, with the Prosecutor General's Office and the Roskomnadzor Regulatory Authority.

You see signs that the DW is "foreign agents". For that the German transmitter has "all characteristics". Piskarev further told the Interfax news agency: "They conduct and carry out political activities financed by the budget of the Federal Republic of Germany."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is therefore called upon to examine whether DW should continue to work in the country. In addition, among other things, the reporting of the Russian service of the British BBC and the US-funded Radio Liberty will be examined for possible violations of the Russian electoral law.

Deutsche Welle is the state radio station of the Federal Republic of Germany and member of the ARD. It is not financed by fees, but by a grant from taxpayers' money.
