(CNN Spanish) - "Duke is a lousy liar," said Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez on Friday before the United Nations plenary.

The Venezuelan representative dedicated much of her speech to refute the allegations made by the president of Colombia, Iván Duque, in previous days, who accuse Venezuela of allegedly harboring dissident and guerrilla groups in the border areas.

During her speech, the vice president of Venezuela insisted that her country does not host any type of armed groups that could present a danger to the countries of the region. He accused Duke of "liar" and having presented a false photo to the United Nations.

The presidency office has not ruled on the controversy and has not responded to CNN's request to obtain a clarification on the photograph and its origin.
