The Directorate of Agriculture in Hama has allocated about 35684 hectares of land for cultivation with wheat and 136 thousand hectares for cultivation with barley within its plan for the next agricultural season.

The Assistant Director of Hama Agriculture, Dr. Bassam Bazerbashi, explained that wheat cultivation includes various areas in the governorate distributed in Souran, Hama, Mehradah, Salamiyyah and Masyaf expected to enter new areas in agriculture, including Mork, Latamneh and Kafrzita with the return of security and stability to the governorate and the liberation of a large number of villages and towns Terrorism.

Bazerbashi pointed out that the agricultural plan has been circulated to various extension units and the start of granting agricultural licenses to start the work of agriculture, noting that the Directorate is carrying out training courses and field days on how to take care of wheat crop in order to obtain abundant production.

On the other hand, the branch of the General Organization for Multiplication in Hama distributed 4500 tons of sifted and sterilized wheat seeds to various branches of the Agricultural Bank in the governorate, in preparation for distribution to farmers with the start of financing operations next season with agricultural production requirements.

The director of the branch, Engineer Abdul Ghani Al-Aswad, pointed out that the quantities of sifted and sterilized wheat seeds in the foundation branch reached 10 thousand and 800 tons.He pointed out that the branch continues the screening and sterilization operations in Kfarbham with a production capacity of 150 tons per day and the mobile agricultural sieve with a capacity of between 40 and 50 tons per day.
