New York-United Nations - SANA

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez reiterated his country's support for a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria without outside interference and full respect for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"We reject any direct or indirect external interference in Syria without the consent of the legitimate authorities," Rodriguer said in his speech to the UN General Assembly today.

Rodriguez also reiterated his country's support for a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict, which allows the Palestinian Arab people to exercise their right to self-determination and establish an independent and sovereign state on the borders before 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Rodriguez also expressed solidarity with Iran in the face of the aggressive escalation of Washington, stressing his country's rejection of the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the nuclear agreement concluded with Tehran, stressing that his country supports dialogue and cooperation on the basis of the principles of international law.

On the other hand, Rodriguez welcomed the inter-Korean dialogue process, pointing to the need to reach a permanent political solution in that region through negotiations, condemning unilateral and unfair sanctions on Pyongyang.

The Cuban foreign minister warned that the continued expansion of NATO towards the border with Russia is a real danger, rejecting the arbitrary sanctions imposed on Russia.

Bruno reiterated that the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed nearly 60 years ago remains the main obstacle to Cuba's development, pointing out that the illegal Helms Burton Act, which Washington decided to enact Chapter III this year reflects the aggressive behavior of the United States against Cuba.
