New York-Sana
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has stressed the importance of working to combat terrorist organizations in Syria and not to be complacent in holding regional states sponsoring and supporting these organizations.
On the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Shoukry stressed Egypt's keenness to provide all aspects of support for efforts to settle the crisis in Syria and restore security and stability in Egypt, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said in a statement today. The country stressed the importance of working to combat terrorism and extremist organizations in Syria and to address the risk of foreign fighters leaking from their areas of presence, especially in the Idlib region, and the inevitability of tolerance in holding regional states sponsoring and supporting terrorist groups in Syria.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry called in a statement a few days ago for the international community to hold Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accountable for his crimes, especially supporting the terrorists in Syria and the region, providing them with weapons and shelter, and providing them with safe haven in violation of Security Council resolutions as well as his crimes against his people.
