The chairman of the Yemeni Prisoners' Affairs Committee Abdul Qader Al-Mortada announced today an initiative he submitted to the United Nations that includes the release of 350 prisoners of the Saudi aggression forces, including three Saudis.
Al-Murtadha was quoted as saying in a press conference: "We submitted to the United Nations a unilateral initiative to release 350 prisoners and detainees from Sweden's agreement, affirming that this initiative will be implemented later today under the auspices of the organization and the ICRC." Sweden Agreement.
Al-Murtada asked the United Nations to pressure the Saudi aggression coalition to take a similar step or count a similar number of prisoners in any future deal.
During talks in Stockholm last December, the Yemeni parties reached agreements including a ceasefire in Hodeida and the release of a number of prisoners.
