[Seoul 1st Reuters]-The Korea Census Bureau's September consumer price index (CPI) fell 0.4% year-on-year, making it the first negative inflation since the start of statistics in 1965.
In addition to sluggish consumer demand, the price of agricultural products, which was unusually high last year, fell.
In the Reuters survey, a 0.3% decline was expected.
September CPI rose 0.4% month-on-month.
